Established in 1973, the Cambwell flock has strived to produce top quality pedigree and commercial rams and females with excellent muscle and tight skins. Performance Recording and CT scanning has helped improve growth rates and muscle depth. Embryo transfer has helped speed up genetic gain and only ewes with perfect udders and positive fat EBV are flushed.
The Cambwell flock was Champion flock in the 2015 Scottish Texel Club competition. The flock won this award in 2010 and was reserve champion in 2012. It consists of 100 ewes run at 800-950ft, competing with 55 suckler cows and 200 cross ewes and is MV accredited and scrapie monitored.
